This blog exists only as an archive. It is a journal that serves as a window into my life as a Marine combat veteran serving in Iraq and Afghanistan; it was written with no filter, no politics and no agenda. Please feel free to follow my journey from beginning to end. Welcome to my life.

It's Sunday morning and I just checked the college football scores.

I have decided to stay in Afghanistan. The Badgers have given me nothing to come back to.

  1. Hey that is all the more reason to come back ! You gotta give them a good "talking" to !! Love ya and glad you are ok!

  2. Well if you need incentive to come back does BEER help?

    Drink those Badger woes away.

  3. Very depressing season indeed. At least you can just check a score and walk away. Better than having to watch the debacle. Better come back though, maybe your absence has been the reason they suck.

  4. Don't forget that you're a Marine.

Marines don't avoid problems, they attack...errmm... I mean, fix them.

Come home and put some fire up your boys' tails.

It may be time for you to do a Gylippus at Sicily. I would suggest, though, that you refrain from copying his weakness after the fight was won.

  5. Hey maybe this will help a bit:

Packers 34, Colts 14: Dominant team effort

  6. My family if from the Rapids, we are huge Badger fans. Don't care about football...as long as you get your ass back home safe. You don't know me and it doesn't matter. i have followed this blog for quite some time and my family and I truly care about you...

  7. Snap, well said. We're all hoping you return home safe, thank you for your service. Semper Fi.

  8. C'mon Cpl Woods. We still cheer the Seattle Seahawks on, in vain hopes of victory. Think of having a cool one to kill the pain and get ready for the next game.

Thanks for all you do. We follow you closer than the Seahawks.

  9. Jake,

Did it ever occur to you that the Badgers are just waiting for you to return?

So glad you are "done" now get home safely.

Another old Badger following your blog
