This blog exists only as an archive. It is a journal that serves as a window into my life as a Marine combat veteran serving in Iraq and Afghanistan; it was written with no filter, no politics and no agenda. Please feel free to follow my journey from beginning to end. Welcome to my life.

  2. The love of a family and mother is cherished and treasured. A father is the Lion at the gate for the whole family and always will have the father's love from the heart of a lion. What a feeling that must be.

    Glad you're home safe.

  7. So I've never commented. I usually don't. I accidently found your blog about four months ago, and check back many times a day. I waited (as im sure everyone else did) for posts that seemed to never come fast enough. Days would pass, and I will admite without even knowing you I worried. I'm not sure what the connection is but I will see her publicly as a man that I cried when I saw the photos of you home. Weird cause I'm a pretty unemtional guy. Thank you Jake for all that you have done, and all that will you do. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Your parents need a big thank you to for raising such an outstanding man as well. Welcome home sir....
