Peace out Boberts

Cpl Roberts officially left the platoon to return to the United States yesterday. It was a pretty funny goodbye, with lots of promises involving booze cruises and the like upon our return in a few months. After 4 years of service and 3 deployments to Iraq, I suppose it was about his time to stop rolling the dice. Like I mentioned earlier, he was accepted to Cal-Berkley, so that is where you will find him this fall (as well as in Vegas and Madison, I convinced him to make those trips as well).

  1. Can't wait til your safe return! We read your post daily and pray for everyone!

    Thanks Jake!

  2. I can't wait for your safe return. It's just not the same going to the gym with out you and jeff. Plus I cant rember the name of any excercise so I can't ask for help.

  3. Enough of all of this serious "stuff". Oh for the days when all that you saw when you "googled" Jake Wood was a reference to some guy who played infield for the Yankees.

What I want from our young "devil dog" is his estimate of who will start for THE BADGERS at QB this fall. TD or AE? And which of them will buy more beer for his fat assed OL?

  4. Hey Jake, our son is there with you but in 2nd platoon. It sounds like hell on earth but home is soooo close and "homecoming" is even closer! We have made reservations for that already....this is our second time around. We are praying for all of you, our real heroes! Thank you for this blog...it brings us closer to our Marine and his commitment and duty is made clearer to us. Blessings, Mary
