A Good Read

I recently took The Kite Runner out into the field and finished the book in only a matter of days. I really recommend it, its definitely one of the best books that I have read in a while. I have to give credit to my sister Sarah for suggesting that I read it.

For those of you that don't know anything about it, it's a book that follows the story of a young Afghan boy as he grows up in an initially peaceful and subsequently war-torn Afghanistan. It then follows him and his father as they flee to America. The story deals with a lot of issues like racism, prejudice, religion, war and the pressure of a boy to grow up in the shadow of his beloved father figure.

I'm serious about this book, it had me close to tears a number of times, you need to pick it up.

  1. It's on my list of greats as well, glad you liked it brosef.

  2. I've read this book also, I agree its one of the best. They are actually making a movie based on the book :) Can't wait to see it, hopefully its just as good as the book.

  3. Hey Jake. Thank you for your service.
May god watch over you everywhere...

As for the Book, I have a very similar post on my blog about it. I had to let people know about how good it is...btw, Hosseini released his second novel in may of 2007, it's called "A Thousand Splendid Suns".
